Dr. Luis Cruz

We recently moved to Tarzana, which is at best a 25 minute drive to the American Vetinary Hospital and well worth it! I would drive 100 miles to get the caring and professional treatment that I ALWAYS receive from Dr. Cruz. Our 2 dogs are like children to us, and Dr. Cruz is the ONLY Vet I have ever had that honestly gives us his undivided time and attention at every visit. I never feel rushed and always feel that all of my questions are thoroughly answered. If you truly love your pet, and you want the best care.....I reccomend American vetinary Hospital

My lil chihuahua has been a patient of Dr. Cruz for over 4 years now. He is such a sweet and caring doctor towards my lil girl. What i like most about Dr. Cruz and the reason why my dog is still a loyal patient is because he takes his time with my dog, he explains to me the problems (if there is any), gives me the pros and cons as in long term problems that could occur. But most of all, I never leave his office with an empty wallet. Instead i go home with a healthier dog. If i have any problems or concerns i can call the office - which makes me a happy parent.

Recently, when my little chihuahua got her teeth clean/ baby tooth removed i was so nervous to leave my lil girl the whole day at the hospital but when my sis went to go pick up my dog she told me that everything was ok. When i got home to see my lil chihuahua she had a pink cast on. Dr. Cruz put a pink cast on my chihuahua because he knew her favorite color was pink. He knows his patients best! :)

Dr. Cruz and staff are very kind and thorough when assessing our animals' health and well being. Dr. Cruz spent considerable time explaining each of the health issues with our pets and offered several alternatives to what would have been a very costly procedure on one of our dogs. We greatly appreciate the follow up phone calls from his staff. They are all very caring individuals. They are also very up to date on procedures and medicines.

I have had two wonderful dogs who lived healthy long lives and Dr. Cruz has always been helpful and attentive to their needs and gone out of his way, mid-night to help out. I am sure that running a clinic has its expenses and I never found American Veterinary Hospital's charges to be out of line. Medicine, whether human or animal is not without cost. I suspect that one person's outrageous is in another person's view, a fair price. Veterinary medicine, by nature and perhaps necessity is not without cost particularly when it is state of the art. I have never found AVC to be "outrageous". Dr. Cruz has marvelous skills and his facility and its equipment is top notch. I will suggest that part of pet ownership and responsibility is providing proactive pet health and preparing for the financial costs that may go along with it. It is heartbreaking when a pet gets sick but treatment cost can and do mount up. Of course every case is different and requires different steps... as it should be. Myself, I have never been disappointed in the service and care that was given by American Veterinary. Perhaps that is why I drove many miles to entrust the health of my pets to Dr. Cruz.

The Vet there is Dr. Cruz.. I found him and his staff to be very kind and courteous. I read the reviews here and I can't believe they describe the office that I went to. The people there were super friendly and very accommodating with scheduling when it came to squeezing me in for my dog's ear problem. There was no BS when it came to pricing...he laid it all out to me..so no surprises there. I am definitely using this practice agan.

Dr. Cruz and his staff put my mind at ease right away and gave Molly ( and me too) TLC during her treatment. I was so nervous because I had not been to Dr. Cruz before. He was even very reasonable with his price. Now, seeing how great Molly is doing and wonderful the visit was, American Veterinary is the only place I would ever bring Molly or even other pets I may have in the future.
